Chinese Original was established in 2007 as a specialist Chinese language and cultural learning services provider for the financial and legal sectors in London. Today our range of language-learning services include individuals across many professional, including expatriates working in China and Hong Kong, as well as classes for children.
MANAGEMENT TEAM
- CEO, Jean-Luc BOURRIN
Jean-Luc has been working in one of the leading investment banks in London for 15 years. He has significant experience in large IT project management, international audit, and exotic fixed income products. Prior to joining the investment bank, he started his career in a leading consulting firm, Accenture, and was Director and General Manager of an internet-based company, Areza Internet Limited, during the dot.com boom in 2000.
He graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris, one of the leading French engineering schools, earned an MA in International Relationships from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Sciences Po Paris, and a BA in Econometrics from La Pantheon-Sorbonne. He speaks English, French, and German fluently, and has a working knowledge of Chinese and Italian.
- Managing Director, Yalan CHUANG
Yalan started her advisory work on high-street fashion branding and market penetration in emerging markets, and has been providing integrated marketing communications consulting to corporate organizations and governmental bodies in the UK, France and Asia for 10 years. She also employed her background in finance on a number of Euro-Sino joint venture projects, providing strategic advice on pre-acquisition due diligence and on integration of multicultural teams post Joint Venture.
She holds a M.A degree in Finance from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, Sciences Po Paris and B.A. degree in Linguistics. She is trilingual, speaking Mandarin Chinese, English, French, a working knowledge of Cantonese and Taiwanese. She is learning German. She is a qualified teacher and has 15-year teaching experience at all age groups. She is passionate about promoting Chinese language and innovating linguistic training methodology. Her success has been documented in a recent article by City A.M., and she has been further recognised by requests for interviews as a subject expert by Channel 4 News and BBC Radio Five.
TRAINING TEAM FOR ADULTS COURSES
All our teachers are native Chinese. All our teachers hold a masters degree and have relevant industry experience to help our students build business Chinese language. Quality of teaching is closely managed and evaluated. All our teachers are required to receive at least 20 hours of rigorous in-house training before course delivery. This best practice is to ensure that they deliver quality services to our students in all age groups.
TRAINING TEAM FOR CHILDREN COURSES
Not only are our teachers highly qualified and experienced, they also have volumes of enthusiasm and energy to work with children. The majority of our teachers hold a masters degree in children education or psychology and have relevant experience to work with children. The teachers all receive at least 20 hours intensive in-house training led by Yalan, to ensure both quality of delivery and that children are inspired to learn. All our teachers have been Enhanced CRB checked.
