Children have enormous potential and can learn to speak as fluently as Chinese speakers. To inspire their interest of learning, Chinese Original deliver our courses in a joyful and caring environment where children learn to communicate confidently in Chinese.

CHINESE-TOTAL-IMMERSION METHOD

Chinese Original curriculum is carefully designed for children from a multilingual family background. Our course director Yalan Chuang, alumna of Grande Ecole Sciences Po Paris, is a qualified teacher with 15 years’ experience. She has developed an innovative linguistic learning methodology for multilingual speakers.

The curriculum is well-structured and will enable children to achieve excellent results in all their subsequent Chinese exams or further educational development. Parents are also encouraged to engage in the Chinese-learning activities with their children at home.

WE MOTIVATE

Children should not be forced, but be inspired to learn. They learn most effectively in a joyful environment. At Chinese Original we use art and musical activities to encourage the pupils’ language development in order that they are able to learn to their full potential.

LEARNING CONTENT

Vocabulary: Children will learn about 50 – 80 words and expression each term. The choice of the vocabulary was made in consultation with the syllabus of the China’s National Ofiice for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and of the Chinese language for primary schools in English-speaking countries such as GCSE, uk, usa and Australia.

Chinese characters: our primary goal is to help students develop an interest in Chinese characters. Students are not required to write every Chinese character. It is sufficient for them to be able to recognize and to read simple Chinese characters and having a preliminary understanding of the rules of character writing. In veiw of the receptive ability of children, we also encourage children above 6 or 7 years old to write characters as they genuinely feel it is quite fun.

Introduction of Chinese culture: the preliminary understanding of Chinese culture always enhances children’s enthusiasm to learn Chinese. Some key features will be introduced in class such as geography, social life, history, food culture along with games and hands-on activities, for example, kicking shuttlecocks, practicing Chinese Kung Fu, making dumplings, and paper-cuts, etc.

WHAT PARENTS SAY…

“Chinese Original teaching method is truly original and effective. Not only do the teachers make the children want to learn Chinese, but their fun teaching techniques make it sound easy! Wether it is mastering the intonations, forming the letters or listening and repeating songs and words, there is something for every child.” - Candice Thompson, mother of Theo aged 8, London

“I would highly recommend Chinese Original classes for children. Our daugther had a fantastic time last year and made good progress. The teachers are all very competent and enthusiastic and they can really support children as the class sizes are kept very small. Yalan, the director, designs the curriculum very carefully to ensure it is tailored to the chidlren’s ages.  - François Josserand, father of Elsa aged 5, London
